Good but frustrating
(Updated for version 7.2.2.91)
Long ago, I bought Runtastic Pro to get additional features and remove ads. The new features were great, but at some point the ads came back. Because of that, Im unlikely to make additional purchases from this vendor.
I do not want to have a Runtastic online account, but every single time I launch the app, Im required to skip not one but TWO screens asking me to login/sign up/etc. I havent found a way to disable that. "Pro" version wont let me use it like a pro.
Finally, either the latest update (7.1.1) or the previous has broken three things (which have still not been addressed in the latest v7.2.2.91):
1. When you complete a workout, the "History" section is completely empty. You have to kill and re-launch the app to even see the run you just completed.
2. If you pause the run at any point, some of the stats at the end of the run are only computed for the first leg. For example, I ran 7mi today and had to pause the app after about 60 seconds so my dog could do his business. I resumed and finished the run. Runtastic says that I burned 15kcal and was dehydrated by 3oz. Other stats may be wrong but those were the standouts.
3. After launching the app, if you switch to another app (e.g. your music, podcast, etc.) before starting your workout, its impossible to start the workout. The "Start" button flashed when you tap it, but the workout wont actually start. You have to kill and restart the app. This is always a fun thing to do just as you are starting a race.
I use Runtastic Pro several times per week and all of the above issues are quite annoying.
Id give this app a higher rating without the bugs, but you will never get a 5-star rating charging for a "Pro" app and still showing ads.
