Where is the GPS tracking for Apple Watch?

Seriously? I get a canned response for my request. Youll add standalone GPS tracking for the Apple Watch sometime in 2017? That could be over a year after Series 2 was released. What is the deal? Runkeeper has had it for months and Strava has it too. Come on, give us tracking.
